"祟" is a Chinese word that refers to supernatural entities that existed in folklore, similar to" 妖怪 (Yokai), " both of which can also represent almost all unexplainable phenomena on a larger scale. They are not simply feudal superstitions but a reflection of the state of society, human psychology, and the evolution of civilization. And such an animistic worldview has traditionally influenced ancient Chinese religious conceptions of nearly everything.

I have always been very interested in this concept, and I feel that the traces of time give life to objects and the world around us, and the presence of life brings a more sensual level of romance to the world. Their history of them is no more or less than the history of the people who tell their stories. That's when I realized retelling these stories, which are highly creative metaphors for things we don't have words for, would be an excellent way for us to learn about ourselves but also a way to discover how can their ancient vitality entangled with today's mixed media global consciousness. This would be a cultural Renaissance of Chinese culture and folklore and my journey of searching for my Eastern roots.
